Liverpool cannot reach the record Premier League points total after suffering their third loss of the campaign at The Emirates last night.
The Reds went down 2-1 despite taking the lead through Sadio Mane. However, by half-time, Arsenal had their lead and it was due to two mistakes from very unlikely culprits.
Virgil van Dijk and Alisson gifted Arsenal both of their goals.
Firstly, Van Dijk’s tame backpass was matched by his attempt at crying foul as Reiss Nelson’s pressure forced him into unwittingly assisting Alexandre Lacazette to an equaliser. Then, Alisson’s poorly placed pass out from the back resulted in Nelson giving Arsenal the lead.
Considering that for the best part of 18 months the duo have arguably been the best players in their positions it came as something of a shock.
One man who commented on the errors was current Fleetwood Town boss and former Premier League midfielder Joey Barton.
Never shy of a controversial comment, the Liverpool-born Everton-leaning maverick might have had some venom for the pair.
However, he was instead very understanding of the two players and seemingly felt relieved that both are, indeed, of this planet.
Good to see that Van Dijk and Allison aren’t robots…
Still the Worlds most outstanding player in their respective position.

Liverpool’s players do appear to be suffering from taking their foot off the gas somewhat and that is understandable, given their incredible season and the long wait for this Premier League title.
Liverpool fans will just hope Van Dijk, Alisson, and the rest of the gang are back to being superhuman once the 2020-21 season gets underway.
