Joe Willock sends emotional message on Instagram after what happened at SJP yesterday

Joe Willock has issued a heartfelt message to Newcastle United supporters on Instagram after he was unveiled at St. James’ Park before kick off yesterday.

Willock revealed

Newcastle fans gave Willock a huge ovation as he walked out on the pitch on Tyneside, after he signed a new six-year deal after his move from Arsenal.

And Willock admitted on social media that he was very grateful for the reception that he received.

Newcastle supporters joy at seeing Willock on Tyneside for good was understandable.

Willock bagged eight goals in 14 appearances on a loan spell with Steve Bruce’s side last season, which quickly made him a very popular player.

Watching from the stands

The central midfielder was only able to watch his new teammates in action from the stands yesterday, though.

Willock may well have been entertained by what was a pulsating encounter, but he will have been disappointed by the result.

Newcastle fell to a 4-2 defeat in the end, as West Ham blitzed them with an excellent second-half display.

Willock could now start for Newcastle in their next match, which comes against Aston Villa at the weekend.
