Joe Willock has outlined just how much the Arsenal squad respect Mikel Arteta, with the midfielder labelling his time in charge mind-blowing, in comments reported by the Daily Mail.

The Gunners certainly appear to be moving in the right direction. It is easy to forget just how much the club seemed to be struggling during the latter stages of Unai Emery’s tenure.

Since Arteta arrived, Arsenal appear to have taken several steps forward. Several previously-written off players have improved and silenced a number of their critics.

There have also been a number of statements made in the transfer market. And of course, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signing a new contract was a major vote of confidence in what Arteta is doing.

Willock is one of the players looking to force his way into the first-team fold on a regular basis. And ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Molde, he illustrated just how impressed he has been with the manager.

“We all really, really respect the manager. What he’s done over the 10 months he’s been here is mind-blowing and we can only take our hats off to him,” he said, as reported by the Daily Mail.

It is still a work in progress at the Emirates. There will be times when it is harder to claim that improvements are being made. But the most important thing seems to be that Arsenal are getting there.

The number of marquee players who would get into almost every other Premier League side is arguably growing. And in Arteta, they appear to have a manager whose stock is seemingly rising at a rapid rate.
