The pressure of coming on to make your first team debut is not easy to handle, but when the chance came Joe Powell’s way, the West Ham teenager notched two assists in just 28 minutes.
It is reflective of the 19-year-old’s incredible form this season, where he has scored four goals and assisted a further four in just six games.
Most recently, he scored twice against Swansea City under 23s and has continued to impress Manuel Pellegrini and encourage him to incorporate him into the first team.
The attacking midfielder has thrived and was on the bench for the trip to the King Power Stadium at the weekend and, whilst he did not feature, will be feeling positive about his future.
Having starred in the previous round of the Carabao Cup, Powell may hold out a hope for his first fixture against top flight opposition in the form of Tottenham.
Those within the club see Powell as a huge prospect and it is easy to see why based on his current form as he sets Premier League 2 on fire with his displays.
