Joe Hart has waxed lyrical about Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, deeming him a “phenom” and “unreal”.

The 34-year-old played for Spurs during the 2020-21 season, making 10 appearances at the club.

Although Hart’s time at Tottenham was short, he was still a key member of the club’s dressing room.

He also found himself on the receiving end of Kane’s world-class attacking efforts in training.

Speaking on the latest episode of the In the Stiffs podcast, Hart gave an insight into just how good Kane is.

The Celtic keeper admitted that, while he always thought Kane was superb, he was much better than he imagined.

Hart previously played with the 28-year-old on England, but then he saw what he was like day in, day out.

“The best finisher there was Kane and best player there is him,” said the veteran stopper.

“I was with him for three years previous with England and thought he was awesome, a top player, but he really is a top player.

“I saw him three years later and it wasn’t just because I was with him every day it’s because this lunatic is still improving.

“He’s still getting better because of his mentality and work-ethic.

“He’s a phenom. Some people when they have good days they’re unplayable. When he has a good day he’s actually perfect.

“His heading, his pass, his touch, his finishing. He’s [as good as I’ve played with] and I’ve played with some good ones!”

Kane has continued to make history over the course of the season.

He has moved up to fifth in the Premier League all-time goalscorers’ table and is England’s third-highest top goalscorer.

Indeed, there’s a good chance Kane could become the highest-scoring England player of all time come the end of the year.

He needs just five more goals for the Three Lions to overtake Wayne Rooney, who has netted 53 times for his country.
