Joe Hart was amongst those to send a message to Jordan Pickford on Instagram after England beat Germany at Euro 2020, with the Spurs goalkeeper labelling the Everton star ‘class’ following his Wembley display.

Pickford is arguably one of several England players to have silenced a lot of their doubters this summer.

The Toffees stopper has been outstanding so far. Of course, he is yet to pick the ball out of his net.

But Germany potentially came closer than anyone to ending that run.

Pickford needed to make a big save from Timo Werner during the first-half. And he produced an even more incredible stop after the break to deny Kai Havertz.

The saves provided the Three Lions with the platform to go on and win 2-0 and book their quarter-final spot.

And following the game, Pickford took to social media, posting a photo of the Everton man celebrating the victory. It is certainly clear to see just how much it means to the 27-year-old.

And amongst those to reply was Hart. It is easy to forget that the Spurs man was between the sticks the last time England contested a European Championship game…

Jordan Pickford silencing critics as England continue Euro 2020 run

Pickford is the only goalkeeper at the tournament to keep four clean sheets from four.

Interestingly, FB Ref suggests that England have an expected goals against of just 0.6 for the tournament. In comparison, their closest rivals have an expected goals against of 1.8.

But it does feel that Pickford has made some huge stops in this tournament, including the two on Tuesday.

And with Ukraine now ahead, England will fancy their chances of booking their spot in the semi-final off the back of a fifth clean sheet.
