Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Joe Hart has hailed the club’s “powerful squad” which is “starting to realise how special it could be”, in conversation with the Spurs website.

The North Londoners signed the 33-year-old in August on a two-year deal after he had left fellow Premier League side Burnley on a free transfer at the end of the 2019-20 season.

To date, Hart – brought as cover for Hugo Lloris – has made two appearances for Tottenham, both of them in the Europa League.

The England international’s efforts have helped Spurs into the group stages of the competition, and on top of that, Jose Mourinho’s charges are into the League Cup quarter-finals.

In the Premier League, meanwhile, Tottenham followed their poor season-opening defeat to Everton with a draw and two emphatic wins, including a 6-1 hammering of Manchester United.

“It’s a powerful squad, a squad that is starting to realise how special it could be,” Hart told the Spurs website.

“It’s squad where it’s been proved already that everyone has a role to play, whatever that may be. If we’re going to be successful, we need to get our heads around that.”

Hart also said he’s happy with his early days at the club, adding: “I feel good. The guys have received me well.

“I like to think they understand me as a player and a person and what I’m trying to bring to the club.”

Tottenham’s first game of the season was disappointing but they’ve rallied round with some great results which, it has to be remembered, were part of a ridiculously congested run of games.

Spurs went into the international break on a high note with a masterclass against Mourinho’s old side and, with Gareth Bale nearing full fitness, there could be exciting times ahead for the Lilywhites.
