Joe Cole says Mo Salah is one of the greatest players of his generation

Joe Cole has heaped the praise on Liverpool forward Mo Salah, with Cole believing the Egyptian is one of the finest players of his time.

Salah failed to score as the Reds saw off Burnley yesterday but he’s just two goals off 100 Premier League goals having played just 160 times.

Having returned to the Premier League after leaving Chelsea to go to Italy, it’s safe to say Salah has cemented his legacy at Anfield. He has already got off the mark this season, scoring at Norwich last week.

And speaking just before the game yesterday, BT Sport pundit Cole was full of praise for Salah and what he brings to Liverpool.

He’s unbelievable. He affects the game so much,” Cole said.

“He’s gone away and come back and developed himself into one of the finest players of his generation. Listen, nobody is like Messi, but there is an element of that about him with that left foot. So well balanced, he’s a wonderful player.”

Nobody has scored more goals in the Premier League since Salah arrived at Liverpool in the entire league. The 100 goal mark will come soon, and don’t bet against him making it 150 in the coming seasons either.

TBR’s View: Salah is world-class, a genuine superstar

And that seems to be both on and off the field. Salah is simply brilliant and without him, Liverpool are a different side.

Mane is also good, but Salah looks like he’s going to score whenever he has the ball. He’s that good.

Cole is bang on in his assessment here. Salah’s numbers, performances. and impact ensure he’ll go down as one of the best of the last decade at least.
