Joe Cole has shared where he would rank Heung-min Son amongst some of the greatest strikers the game has ever seen, with Peter Crouch insisting that the skipper is a Tottenham Hotspur legend.
Heung-min Son has definitely rediscovered some of his best form for Spurs this season. The South Korean has taken on the captain’s armband. And he is in with a good chance of enjoying his best ever campaign in front of goal for Tottenham.
Son – who is currently away on international duty at the Asian Cup – has 12 goals in the Premier League this term. His best tally stands at 23.
Joe Cole and Peter Crouch laud Tottenham captain Heung-min Son
Son has often played up front since Harry Kane departed in the summer. Nevertheless, some may be surprised to see the 31-year-old included on a list of the world’s greatest ever strikers put to Joe Cole and Peter Crouch in a video on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.

The likes of Ronaldo and Thierry Henry went into the top tier, while below that were elite, world-class and good levels. Son was the first name to go into the good tier, before being joined by the likes of Nicolas Anelka, Carlos Tevez and Gabriel Batistuta.
Joe Cole said: “I feel bad about putting him in good, because he’s unreal, isn’t he?”
“If you look at his record, who he’s gone above there, like Defoe, Robbie Keane, legends at Tottenham, he is an outright legend at Spurs,” Peter Crouch then added.
Spurs star has done brilliantly to be included in all-time striker tier list
It is a little unfair to judge Son against some of the greatest strikers the planet has seen. Ultimately, he has not played a huge amount in that role for Tottenham, largely because of Harry Kane.
But it says a lot that Son is on the list. The £22 million forward is already one of the club’s all-time leading goalscorers, as Crouch notes. And you would not be surprised to see him bring up his double century at some point in the future.
Despite his inclusion on the list, Son is arguably incredibly underrated given what he has brought to Tottenham since his arrival.
