Former England and Chelsea midfielder, Joe Cole, has warned that Brendan Rodgers would ‘insane’ to consider taking the Spurs or Arsenal jobs this summer.
Rodgers is being monitored by both North London clubs, according to varying reports. Spurs, in particular, have shown a keen interest in Rodgers after parting ways with Jose Mourinho last month.
The Leicester City manager has been really impressive with the Foxes. Champions League football is on the brink of being sealed, and he’s helped the club bring in and develop top players such as Youri Tielemans and Wesley Fofana.

And regular BT Sport pundit Cole believes Leicester is a much better club for Rodgers at the moment.
“He would be insane to consider Spurs or Arsenal ahead of Leicester. Spurs and Arsenal are a mess at the moment,” Cole commented (via Metro).
Rodgers has seen his stock rise year on year since being in management. He came within whiskers of winning the Premier League title with Liverpool. From there, he went onto Celtic, where he dominated the SPL before taking the Leicester job.
Daniel Levy is thought to have Rodgers near the very top of his list of targets. However, a number have already slipped the net, and Rodgers has indeed admitted he’s happy in the Midlands for now.
TBR View: Cole is right, Leicester are going places under Rodgers
Of course, Spurs and Arsenal remain two of the jewels in the English crown when it comes to football. But at the moment, Joe Cole is correct in that both clubs are a bit of a mess.
Rodgers has built something good at Leicester, so there’s little reason for him to leave. Especially with the chance at a Champions League run next season.
