Joe Aribo reacts to Rangers win on Instagram; Eze, Iheanacho and Johnson reply

Joe Aribo received a host of replies from players at a number of clubs after taking to Instagram to celebrate Rangers’s stunning win at Ibrox on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s side ran out 8-0 winners in their clash with Hamilton. The game saw the Gers score four times in each half to restore their nine point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The clash also saw Aribo double his tally for goals this season. The Nigeria international bagged two during the first-half to put the contest to bed before the break.

Unsurprisingly, the 24-year-old took to social media following the result. He expressed his gratitude for being involved in such an outstanding performance.

Aribo received plaudits from a number of players in response to his post, including from a couple who were linked with Ibrox moves in the summer.


Daniel Johnson was heavily linked with the Gers in the previous window. According to Lancs Live, Rangers offered £1.5 million for him. And he was even left out of Preston North End’s squad at one stage amid speculation over his future.

Meanwhile, the Daily Record reported that tentative talks were held with Lyle Taylor before his move to Nottingham Forest. Taylor, of course, played alongside Aribo at Charlton.

There were also responses from the likes of £20 million Premier League star Eberechi Eze (fee reported by Sky Sports), and Aribo’s Nigeria teammate Kelechi Iheanacho…
