Jody Morris claims one Chelsea player is 'right up there' with Mo Salah
Mo Salah hit the headlines again yesterday thanks to another fine Liverpool performance but Jody Morris believes Chelsea have a player in their ranks who is on a par with him this season.
Chelsea won 1-0 themselves as they kept another clean-sheet, this time at Brentford. A goal from Ben Chilwell was enough to win the game for the Blues as Romelu Lukaku drew a blank again.
However, it is the defensive prowess of Chelsea keeping them in games at the moment really. And following the game, former Blues midfielder Morris took to Twitter to claim that Edouard Mendy has been just as good as Mo Salah this season.
The impressive stopper has kept four Premier League clean-sheets this season and looks every bit the world-class goalkeeper.
Salah, meanwhile, scored yet another wonder goal as Liverpool romped to an easy victory at Watford. The Reds star is being lauded as the best player in the world at the moment, and it’s hard to argue.
Morris, clearly, believes Mendy’s performances are just as important for Chelsea of those of Salah at Anfield.
TBR’s View: Mendy not up there with Salah, but he is a top goalkeeper
Look, in terms of impact on games, nobody is having a season like Mo Salah at the moment. He is almost single-handedly winning games at times.
Not that Mendy isn’t doing well. He’s producing some wonder saves and keeping Chelsea right in the title race as well. But is he on the same level as Salah? Not at all.
