Tottenham Hotspur strengthened their chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League with a third successive league win on Sunday, beating Crystal Palace 4-1 – and Joao Sacramento has reacted with a post on Instagram.
Spurs came into the match on Sunday having won three consecutive matches – beating Wolfsberger, Burnley and Fulham, in which they scored nine goals and clocking up three clean sheets. They made it four wins in a row.
Though they did fail to keep a clean sheet. Gareth Bale tapped home the opener, only for Palace’s Christian Benteke to power home a brilliant header just before the break. But after the half-time whistle, Spurs burst out the traps.
Bale made it two for Spurs, heading in before Harry Kane curled a delicious effort into the top corner. It was four when Kane tapped home Son’s pass – and assistant boss Sacramento posted a 10-word verdict on Instagram.
TBR’s view – Do Spurs get into the top four?
Right now, Manchester City will finish top – and Manchester United look a good bet for second. Leicester are struggling with injuries and form, but still sit in third and Chelsea are looking good for fourth.
But clubs are breathing down their necks – not least Spurs. Tottenham are two points behind Chelsea in sixth, while Everton and West Ham have a game in hand over Chelsea and Spurs. Liverpool are in eighth.
Spurs have momentum and they need to keep winning matches. What could be the difference, is that Bale is on fire – with six goals in his last six games. Keeping the Welshman’s form going could be enough.
