Report: 'World-class' forward Arsenal want has now asked his agent to find him a new club
Arsenal are thought to be keen on signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix and the Gunners might just been given a big boost in that pursuit.
Reports last month had suggested Felix was on the radar of Arsenal ahead of January. GiveMeSport had reported that the Gunners were big fans of the Portuguese forward, who has already scored at this year’s World Cup.
Felix has flattered to deceive since making a big money move to Atletico. The Spanish side paid over £100m for him but in reality, they’ve not seen the best of him.
And according to 90Min today, Felix is now ready to push for a move away after becoming frustrated in Madrid.
90Min reports how Felix has instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to look for a new club for him. Among those interest along with Arsenal are said to be Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris St Germain.
Of course, Atletico won’t be wanting to sell without getting a big chunk of money in. Having splashed three figures on Felix in the first place, the Spanish side will want a return on that investment.
Whether or not Arsenal fancy splashing out on Felix in January, remains to be seen.
TBR’s View: Felix could boost Arsenal’s attacking line up
Felix’s finish against Ghana was a brilliant one and showed very much what he can be about in the final third.
He showed composure, class, and the finishing ability of a player who very much was the talk of Europe at one point in time.
For Arsenal, this January window is about getting things bang on. They need to ensure whoever they sign is capable and can hit the ground running. Ability wise, he has it all. It’s just about him showing his best.
At 23, he has time ahead of him and if he keeps performing in Qatar, then Arsenal could be tempted to push on.
