Joachim Anderson's demand for playing time surely puts Tottenham in pole position
Earlier this year, Tottenham were linked with a swoop for Sampdoria defender Joachim Anderson by Calciomercato, now he appears to have hinted at why Mauricio Pochettino’s side could be best placed to sign him.
Spurs are not the only outfit interested in the reliable youngster, but his latest statements may prove promising as the club look for a long-term alternative to Toby Alderweireld.
“I really just concentrate on being here, and then we have to see what happens this summer. Because right now nothing has to happen. It’s too early,” he told Ekstra Bladet.
“It is important that a club has the right plan with me. I need a view of playing time. I also don’t mind being a season more in Sampdoria. It’s hard to say [which is my favourite league]. England, Spain or Italy. But it comes mostly to the club, which must have a good plan for me, and it must make sense in the long term.”

The 22-year-old is yet to be capped at senior level by Denmark but has caught the eye with his consistent displays in Serie A, denying some of the best attackers in Italy on a repeated basis.
With the end of the campaign bringing the summer transfer window back to life, Anderson may well prove to be on Tottenham’s radar and he would surely jump at the chance to move to Premier League outfit Tottenham.
If regular football is on offer, as it could be alongside Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez at the back, it could be a decisive factor in where the Dane is plying his trade come August.
