Tottenham Hotspur have been looking for a new central defender to eventually take the reins from Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. The two experienced Belgium internationals are both coming to the end of their respective contracts in North London and Tottenham are looking to bring in a long-term replacement for their services.
One name that has now emerged as a possible option is Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen. The Danish talent has been in fine form in Italy this season.

As reported by Il Secolo XIX, as relayed by TMW, the 22-year-old has been on the radar of Spurs for some time according to the report.
As reported by Calciomercato, the likes of Inter, Monaco and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on the player, who is valued in the region of €25 million (£22.3 million) and such a fee would be well in Tottenham’s wheelhouse for the young defender.
Tottenham need to start considering their defensive future. Whilst Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez are two hugely talented players but Tottenham are right to start considering their long-term future.
Andersen is one of Europe’s hottest young defensive talents and Tottenham would be right to be making their interest in the player concrete.
