Jim Goodwin has suggested that St Mirren would love to take Lewis Morgan on loan during the January transfer window, but admitted that he is not sure whether the Celtic winger will be available, in comments reported by the Daily Record.
The 23-year-old has not had the easiest time since joining the Hoops in 2018. He has spent much of his time with Celtic out on loan, and has only made one Scottish Premiership start for the Bhoys. That one league start came back in August.

And Goodwin – who played alongside Morgan before his Parkhead switch – admitted that he would love to offer the wide-man the chance to leave on loan if Celtic were open to a move.
“Of course Lewis would be a player we’d love to get, he’s obviously been here before and been very successful. He’s a quality footballer but at this minute in time he’s not available,” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.

“We haven’t been told by Celtic that he is and he remains part of their squad.
“I wouldn’t hide from the fact that if we could have an opportunity of making that one happen then absolutely we would.”
TBR View – Tough call for Celtic
It is arguably not going to be an easy decision for Neil Lennon if clubs do come calling in January. It does appear that Morgan could really benefit from a loan move, particularly if the offer comes from a top flight club.
However, while he is not playing as much as he would probably like, it could still be a risk. Lennon is regularly including him in his matchday squads, so he is clearly a part of his plans.
And with Celtic set to battle on three fronts during the second-half of the season, Lennon may feel that he cannot afford to lose any player in January – even if it may benefit Morgan in the long run to enjoy more regular game-time.
