Exclusive: Jesurun Rak-Sakyi wants to join Rangers

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been told that the Crystal Palace No.49 would prefer a move to Rangers this summer.

We understand the Scottish giants are leading the race for Rak-Sakyi and are firm favourites to secure his signature.

Sources add that Crystal Palace would prefer to sell the man born in Southwark, but a loan deal including an option to buy could also be struck.

TBR Football are aware that this detail is currently being discussed in talks between Crystal Palace – who are confident of signing Hayden Hackney – and Rangers.

Rak-Sakyi boasts an impressive goalscoring record throughout his career – both at youth level and also during his spell on loan in League One with Charlton.

The Crystal Palace academy graduate scored 15 goals in 43 League One appearances during that stint with the Addicks, and can also boast 23 goals in 36 games in the Premier League 2.

What Russell Martin thinks of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi after trying to bring him to Southampton in 2024

We understand Russell Martin is a driving force behind this deal.

The 39-year-old attempted to bring Rak-Sakyi to Southampton last summer before ultimately facing the sack at St Mary’s in December.

Now – however – Martin could finally secure the Londoner, who is prioritising a move to Glasgow.
