‘I used that’: Jesse Marsch reveals exactly what he told Leeds United players at half-time against Wolves

Nobody can say that Leeds aren’t providing value for money lately as they once again scored late in the day to snatch a vitally important three points at Wolves.

Just days after seeing off Norwich in the final minutes at Elland Road, the Whites were at it again at Wolves as they roared back from 2-0 down to complete a remarkable second half comeback. The Molineux crowd was left stunned, as Rodrigo, Harrison, and Luke Ayling scored the goals to get Leeds the win.

But after being two down at the break, there seemed little hope for Leeds. However, Jesse Marsch has explained what he told his players at the break, and how he felt they could come back into the game.

“I told them it would be easy right now to feel sorry for ourselves. To have the three injuries and be down right at the end of the half 2-0. But I said I was happy to have a couple of young guys on the pitch and the opportunity that they were going to have,” Marsch told Sky Sports.

“I said no matter what that if we had a good start – and to be honest we had a good start against Aston Villa and if we’d have got a goal the game might have been different – and I used that as an example. To have a good mentality, couple of tactical adjustments, and have the confidence and belief that we could still turn it.”

TBR’s View: Marsch Getting Leeds Players On Board

After the start Marsch made, there was a feeling that this group of Leeds players might have ran its course and recovering from the loss of Bielsa might be too much.

But what a difference a week makes. The Leeds players looked to take things into their own hands yesterday in the face of adversity and there is no doubt they’ve bought into what Marsch wants.

If he can keep this up, then there is a lot to be positive about for Leeds United.
