Jesse Lingard and Everton player react as Moise Kean makes it 12 from 23

Moise Kean made it 12 goals from 23 Paris Saint-Germain games on Wednesday night with a well-executed finish from close range to help his side beat SM Caen 1-0 in the Coupe De France – and both Anthony Gordon and Jesse Lingard have responded.

Kean, 20, joined PSG on a loan-to-buy deal last summer after failing to make an impact on Merseyside with Everton. The £27million (Goal) signing has since managed just four goals for Everton in 37 outings after joining in the summer of 2019.

A loan move was engineered and a surprise move to PSG came about – with Kean having his agents to thank. However, the Italy international’s form under both Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino has seen him earn plenty of plaudits.

Playing 23 times – Kean has now scored 12 goals for PSG, volleying home from eight yards out after Neymar had got past his man and crossed for the ex-Juventus attacker. His finish gave PSG the win, and he posted on Instagram after the match.

His long-term future at Everton is in doubt. Indeed, PSG are likely to pursue a permanent deal for Kean given his impressive goalscoring form – while Everton have since brought in Josh King on a short-term deal with a view to extending that contract.

Kean, though, continues to win plaudits and Gordon – who also left Everton on loan to join Preston in January – responded by labelling Kean as “on fire”. West Ham loanee Lingard described Kean as a “boss”.
