Jerzy Dudek has two-word Instagram praise for Liverpool star, after victory

Jerzy Dudek has heaped praise on Liverpool star Diogo Jota on Instagram – after the Portuguese ace scored in his side’s 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid.

The Reds came into the match having won three of their three Champions League group stage matches. A win secured first place in the group.

Quite remarkable, considering that Liverpool’s group was deemed the group of death following the draw. Now, they are four wins from four.

They sit clear of their opponents by seven points after four games. Incredible form, that now gives Klopp the chance to rest his big hitters.

Indeed, Klopp made a couple of surprise selection decisions – bringing in Konstantinos Tsimikas, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and more.

But it was Trent Alexander-Arnold providing the difference with two assists. His first cross for Jota to score was absolutely sensational.

His second might have been a shot, but the intelligence of Sadio Mane saw him tap home. Mane is Liverpool’s third-highest European scorer in history.

Dudek on Jota: Liverpool star’s importance somewhat underrated

Jota was a surprise inclusion in the side against Manchester United, but he scored and created a goal. He was a late sub against Brighton last weekend.

His goals – 18 in 43 appearances for the Reds now – are not underrated. But his press and work rate does sometimes go under the radar slightly.

WhoScored report that Jota was top of the interceptions charts against Atletico – with three. He had has many tackles as anyone.

Dudek, though, was full of praise for Jota on Instagram. He delivered a two-word verdict on the ex-Wolves man, labelling him a key player.
