Jerzy Dudek delivers three-word Instagram verdict on Liverpool player

Jerzy Dudek has posted a three-word Instagram verdict on Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Reds ended their dismal run of form to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 away from home – with the right-back scoring, too.

Liverpool came into the match having failed to win any of their past five Premier League fixtures, as well as losing to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday. However, none of that seemed to matter, as they cruised past Spurs.

Defensive mistakes proved costly for Tottenham. Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier allowed Roberto Firmino to tap home, before Lloris palmed a tame effort to Alexander-Arnold for the second. Joe Rodon allowed Sadio Mane to net a third.

Alexander-Arnold has struggled this season. Before the Tottenham game, he had failed to score and laid on just four assists for Liverpool in 22 games. On Thursday, he laid on an assist and scored, and Dudek claimed “he is back”.

TBR’s view – Alexander-Arnold plays well – Liverpool play well

That was proved on Thursday night. Alexander-Arnold has struggled for much of the season but when the England defender plays well, so does the rest of the team. It is not that he is influential, he is simply a marker for form.

If he struggles, it does not mean the entire side struggle. But when he plays well it means the team are working with fluidity. It was Liverpool back to their best on Thursday, though helped by Spurs in defence.
