Jerzy Dudek has commented on whether Liverpool can win the Champions League trophy this season on Instagram as Jurgen Klopp’s side prepare to take on German side RB Leipzig on Tuesday night – which will take place in the Puskas Arena.

It has been a disappointing spell in the Premier League for Liverpool. The Premier League champions are currently sitting sicth in the top tier of English football after a poor spell of form, which has been largely put down to injuries.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho are all injured and it will be interesting to see who plays in the middle of the defence on Tuesday night against Julian Nagelsmann’s side. Leipzig themselves are performing well this season.

Despite losing Timo Werner last summer, they sit only five points behind Bayern in second place in the Bundesliga. It is an intriguing tie that could go either way, but Dudek has commented on Instagram that he believes his old side can win.

Dudek, renowned for his goalkeeping antics in the 2005 final win over AC Milan in Istanbul, posted his hopes on his Instagram page – stating that while the league is gone, the Champions League is still alive. He then commented on his post.
