Tottenham fell to a frustrating loss in their last Premier League outing versus Aston Villa, with one player who Jermaine Jenas is worried about coming under fire.
Spurs have dropped out of the top six as a result of that defeat, and now go into their meeting with Everton sat sixth in the table.
Alan Shearer thinks one Villa player was too good for Tottenham, while summer signing Xavi Simons struggled for the North Londoners against Unai Emery’s men.
Fans expressed frustration over Simons, and former midfielder Jermaine Jenas has shared a similar verdict this weekend.

Jermaine Jenas worried about Xavi Simons
Jenas and Jermaine Pennant discussed the Dutchman on the Wildcards Podcast, with the former saying he believes the summer addition is becoming frustrated.
The ex-Tottenham midfielder said: “I always have concerns when it’s like, why did Barca let him go? Why did PSG let him go?”
Pennant said: “Big teams don’t usually do that. They don’t let gems go.”
Jenas responded: “Not really. I mean, you’ve had a couple with Palmer and so on since this new financial situation came into play. But I actually feel sorry for him a little bit.”
“I think that he has the quality to be that more central figure. But you can already see him getting a little bit frustrated. People are not seeing things quick enough with him and he’s not building those relationships that he needs to build.
“I actually think he’s going to be all right. I think he’s going to need six months just to bed into the Prem and stuff. But I actually quite like what I’m seeing from him when he’s central.”
TBR Football understands that Tottenham really like Simons, but the 22-year-old has endured a difficult start to life in North London.
His one and only goal contribution for the Lilywhites came on September 13 versus West Ham United.
The former PSG player has since blanked in his last four league matches, and Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has admitted Simons has not looked sharp at times following his move.

He said: “But I think there were a lot of situations where he was not quite as sharp, I think that’s fair to say, and he would say that himself.
“But I think it’s natural, he’s coming into a new team, a new league and trying to find that rhythm is difficult.”
Simons is a natural number 10 but has been used off the left on several occasions this season as the Dane continues to experiment with Spurs’ new-look attack.
On the 31-time capped international’s position for Tottenham, Frank said: “I think it’s trying to get the right balance into the team. Also, for me to learn the players and get the best players on the pitch at the same time.
“He came on against Brighton as a 10 and did well. I think when he got into it today as a 10, it didn’t really work, but that wasn’t just him.”
