Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport 3’s UEFA Champions League Highlights Show (Wednesday, 09:45am) that West Ham United should consider a move to replace Manuel Pellegrini with Carlo Ancelotti, after the latter was sacked by Napoli.
Pellegrini is under enormous pressure as West Ham manager after suffering a dismal 3-1 defeat to equally struggling Arsenal at the London Stadium on Monday night. West Ham sit in a lowly 16th place, just a point above the drop zone.
Meanwhile, Ancelotti has been sacked by Napoli just hours after overseeing his side beat Belgian outfit Genk 4-0 to book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League. Gennaro Gattuso is expected to replace the ex-Chelsea manager.
Former Tottenham and England midfielder Jenas believes West Ham should consider a move for the Italian, though Sky Sports have claimed that both Everton and Arsenal are interested in Ancelotti – with Everton even opening talks.
