Jermaine Jenas has labelled Jack Grealish an absolute baller on Twitter after the midfielder inspired Aston Villa to a dramatic victory over Brighton on Saturday.
Dean Smith celebrated one year in charge of the club with three points. But the win only came about after a stoppage-time finish from summer signing Matt Targett.
Targett may have been the match-winner, but it was Grealish who was Villa’s hero. The 24-year-old provided the assist for the decisive goal, having scored the equaliser during the first-half.
Grealish was outstanding throughout the game. He was pulling the strings and certainly proved a point in front of England boss Gareth Southgate.
And after the win, former Villa loanee Jenas took to social media to rave about the club captain’s performance in the victory.
Here is Jenas’s tweet…
What a performance that was today @JackGrealish1 absolute baller 🙌🏽

Any questions about how Grealish would fare back in the top flight have surely been answered. He has scored two goals and provided three assists in nine appearances. In all competitions, he has scored three goals in his last four games.
It would be unfair to suggest that Grealish is now coming of age. In truth, he had stepped up to be Villa’s talisman a number of years ago. But it definitely does appear that he has found another gear now his side are back at England’s top table.
