Tottenham drew 3-3 with LASK to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Europa League and afterwards Jermaine Jenas heaped praise on Dele Alli.

In a bizarre game, Tottenham came from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 and 3-2 but were still forced to settle for a point.

Gareth Bale, Son Heung-min had scored to put Tottenham 2-1 in front – with Alli scoring from the spot to make it 3-2.

A late goal from Mamoudou Karamoko ensured a share of the spoils for the Austrian outfit, however.

Alli has fallen off the radar somewhat this season. He has played 66 minutes in the Premier League, starting two Europa League games.

Last night he only managed the last eight minutes of the games from the bench and Jenas thought he showed a lot of heart.

The situation regarding Alli is bizarre, to say the least.

Mourinho has chosen to utilise other players at his expense and to be fair to the boss, his team currently sit top of the Premier League.

Alli chose not to head out of Tottenham during the summer transfer window but it seems there will be plenty of speculation in January.

The £100,000-a-week player will hold ambitions of going to the Euros with England next summer and in order to do that, he will need to be playing.

At 24 the midfielder still has plenty of time to continue developing and a loan move might suit all parties.

By grabbing the ball and wanting to take an important penalty suggests that Alli isn’t lacking confidence.

With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see whether the man with 37 England caps can force his way back into Mourinho’s thinking in the coming weeks.
