Jermaine Jeans is confident that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino won’t walk away from the club and that he is still keen to be successful in North London.
Pochettino has turned out to be brilliant for Spurs during his five-year tenure, but there is still the one negative hanging over him that he’s never won a piece of silverware.
The Argentinian boss has assembled an exciting group that have gone close to winning trophies, but can’t quite get over the line and they have had a disappointing start to this season too.
They were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties by League Two opponents Colchester United in the week and their league form has been mixed so far this campaign.
The Sun have reported that there are fears inside Spurs that Pochettino could be prepared to quit, with Max Allegri waiting in the wings to replace him.
But ex-Spurs midfielder Jenas can’t picture Pochettino turning his back on his current group and has explained he’s just going through a frustrating period.
“He wants to progress his own personal career, but I feel like he wants to do it at Tottenham Hotspur because he’s invested so much time and energy into this group of players that essentially if he walks away from it, he’s walking away from it with what kind of legacy?” Jenas told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
“A legacy of he was a top manager at Spurs, but essentially hasn’t won anything and I don’t think he’s prepared to do that.
“There is a reason why he wants to stay and that’s because he genuinely loves this project, but he’s not being backed in the way that he felt he was going to be backed for the start of the season.”

TBR’s View:
The noise regarding Pochettino’s future will surely quiet down with a couple of positive results and it’s up to the Spurs players to deliver that.
They have winnable fixtures in the league against Southampton and Brighton before the international break, while there is a Champions League group stage tie with Bayern Munich sandwiched in-between that.
Spurs will be in a much brighter position with maximum points from the league fixtures and they have shown they can compete against the best in Europe too.
