Jermaine Jenas has identified Tottenham's top summer transfer target David Brooks
Tottenham may have gone a year without a transfer by the time that the summer transfer window rolls around, but former midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes that he may have picked out an ideal signing to prove worth to be the wait.
That man is young Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks, who continues to impress ever since joining Eddie Howe’s team from Championship side Sheffield United.
“I think there are a few teams that will want him regardless of how young he is, Bournemouth will be asking for a lot of money for him,” Jenas explained to Goal.
“Young players have the ability to be fearless when they go to a top club and play well. David Brooks will hopefully go somewhere like Tottenham; I think that’s a perfect fit for him. He’s also the perfect fit for the club. He would get game time so it would be nice to see him at Tottenham.”

The 21-year-old Welsh international has scored six goals and registered four assists already this season and is giving the likes of Mauricio Pochettino plenty to think about in the months ahead of the transfer window.
Given the club’s policy of looking for young, homegrown players, it is easy to see why Brooks may be on their shopping list by the time that the summer transfer window re-opens.
Brooks’ undoubted potential has clearly caught the eye of Jenas and if he can maintain his form it may only be a matter of time before he is getting the attention of several high up figures in north London.
