Jermaine Jeans has explained his frustration with Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and has fully backed the fact that he’s been in and out of Jose Mourinho’s team.
The 23-year-old is missing the final few games of the league season with a knee problem, but it’s been a difficult first campaign in English football for him since his arrival last summer from French side Lyon.
He’s shown some flashes of brilliance during his 29 senior appearances for Spurs so far, scoring two goals and supplying four assists in return.
The French central midfielder is a powerhouse that is a strong runner on the ball and has the technical ability to serious threat in the final third, which is why on paper he looks a great player for the Premier League.
But there has been a real issue in finding any consistency, especially since Mourinho took charge as manager from Mauricio Pochettino mid-way through the season.
Ex-Spurs midfielder Jenas has ripped into Ndombele for his contribution so far and wants far more from him.
“He (Ndombele) has every attribute in the book but there seems to be a discipline issue with him in regards to whether he’s working hard enough in training,” Mourinho told Football.London.
“Either way I stand by Jose on this and he’s obviously seen something in Tanguy Ndombele that he’s not happy with. He’s either not training hard enough or in games he’s doing things half-hearted.
“Coming on for 10 minutes here and there, doing 15 stepovers and looking very nice on the eye, I’m personally bored of it now and I don’t know what Tottenham fans think. They might feel the same.”

Ndombele heavily linked with Spurs exit
There has been widespread reports about Ndombele exiting north London just a year after his arrival and it will be interesting to see if Mourinho plans to keep him at the club in the long-term.
Corriere dello Sport has reported (print edition, 22/07/20; pg 6) that Spurs could be tempted to accept an offer of a swap deal with Inter Milan, with Marcelo Brozovic heading one direction and Ndombele the other.
Meanwhile, Le10 Sport has claimed that Bayern Munich have looked at potentially signing Ndombele on loan this summer.
