Jermaine Jenas is predicting Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho to find a way of getting the best out of Gareth Bale.
The Real Madrid attacker is being heavily linked with a move back to former club Spurs and he was pictured on numerous platforms arriving at the training ground yesterday.
Sky Sports reports that the deal is already done and the 31-year-old has completed his transfer to Spurs, which will be on a season-long loan.
Fans are still awaiting for an official announcement from the North London club, but the left-footer is returning to the team he left seven years ago to join Spanish giants Madrid.
He’s won four Champions League titles during his time with the Spanish club and scored 105 goals in 251 appearances, but fell out of favour with manager Zinedine Zidane.
Jenas believes that current Spurs boss Mourinho can be the man to get Bale playing his best football again.
“He’s decided to put himself under pressure and come back to the Premier League under the spotlight at a club like Tottenham with someone like Jose Mourinho, who I think as well is someone that will find a way to get the best out of him,” Jeans told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport (7:26pm, 18 September).
Bale scored just three goals and managed three assists last season, but that was in just 20 games across all competitions and he simply wasn’t given enough game-time.
Despite the fact his time in Madrid has been somewhat turbulent, the Welshman has still achieved so much at the Bernabeu and he still looks a top-class talent when he joins up with his national side.
A return to the Premier League where he made his name is likely to be a blessing or a disaster, but he’s going to be loved by Spurs fans that are delighted to see him back and Mourinho needs to work out in which position he can get the best from the attacker.
