Jermaine Jenas did give a positive mention to Erik Lamela on Wednesday night despite Tottenham’s loss in the FA Cup fifth round.
Spurs were eliminated from the cup competition after losing away to Premier League rivals at Goodison Park.
The teams were locked together at 4-4 at the full-time whistle, but the game continued into extra time, where eventually Bernard scored a winning goal to hand Everton victory.
Jose Mourinho’s side bowed out of the FA Cup, but they will still be hoping for silverware this season in either the Carabao Cup or Europa League.
Pundit and ex-Spurs midfielder Jenas mentioned Lamela as a positive from the result.
Spurs were defensively all over the place as they conceded five times, but they looked a threat going forward and Lamela scored a well-taken goal to make it 3-2 at the time.
The 28-year-old winger produced a strong left-footed finish, which was just his third goal of the season.
“Lamela, he actually played reasonably well, he finally gets his goal,” Jenas told BT Sport 1 (11:20pm).

TBR’s View:
Lamela is someone that frustrates Spurs fans, as he’s capable of individual moments of brilliance without showing it consistently.
The £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) wide player took his goal emphatically against Everton after a one-two to get beyond the defence.
But he’s scored just three goals in 19 appearances across all competitions and the Argentine needs to find consistency, as well as pray for some better luck with injuries.
His time with the North London club has been plagued by injury problems and it’s always held him back.
