Jermaine Jenas insists it’s crucial Tottenham have had some time off to recover and expects them to be at the end of their blip.

Spurs travel to Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League, but haven’t played a competitive game since 9 March.

The North London club have qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals, but their league form has fallen off a cliff and a top four spot is now at risk.

They have just one point from their last four league games, with defeats to Southampton, Chelsea and Burnley highlighting their poor run.

Ex-Spurs midfielder Jenas is backing his former club to be back to their best and highlighted the importance of key duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane.

Both English attackers have had injury problems to overcome in 2018, but are back to full fitness and will be looking to delver the goods at Anfield.

“I think the break for Spurs, the fact that they’ve got all their players back will be big for them,” Jenas told BBC Radio 5 live.

“They’ve not only had a little break, but also been able to get some good minutes into Dele, some good minutes into Harry.

“I think they are at the end of their blip and I think this will be a tough game against a Liverpool side who at home are not what they were last year, in terms of performance.”

TBR’s View:

Kane and Alli are two players who Spurs fans will hope come to the fore during the rest of the season, starting with a daunting trip away to Liverpool.

They are two players who make the team tick going forward when they are on form and they can definitely cause Liverpool problems defensively.

Spurs’ poor run of form lately in the league needs to be addressed quickly, as the thought of no Champions League football in their first full season of a new stadium would be bad for the club.
