Jermaine Beckford has identified three positions where he’d like to see his former club Leeds United strengthen their squad.
Ex-Leeds forward Beckford has suggested that the Yorkshire giants look at bringing in a left-back, with versatile stars Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas filling that role so far this season.
Meanwhile, Beckford would also like to see cover arrive at Elland Road for two of the team’s most important players in Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford.
England international Phillips plays in the deep-lying midfield role and is a real talisman when he plays with the way he sets the tone in possession, but there certainly isn’t anyone in the squad who can fill the role in the same way.
Meanwhile, prolific centre-forward Bamford is the main goal threat for the Yorkshire giants this season and adding another striker who can put some real pressure on him would make sense.
“I would say left-back, cover for Kalvin Phillips in midfield and a number nine to ease the pressure on Patrick Bamford too,” Beckford wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
It remains to be seen if Leeds will actively being looking to sign in January, which has historically been a tough window to secure big-name transfers in.
But long-term the Whites will surely need more quality depth in the squad to establish themselves as a regular top-flight side.
This season is all about staying in the division and they look on course to do that despite Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, but the club’s scouts should be on the search right now looking for players with the right profile to integrate into Bielsa’s style of play.
