Leeds United’s Ian Poveda has claimed he’s “just starting” after receiving a positive four-word message on Twitter from Jermaine Beckford.
Poveda, 21, is a highly-rated Whites attacker at Elland Road who’s been on the fringes this campaign, and mainly had to be content with cameo appearances from the bench.
The London-born winger played his 13th senior game of the season on Monday in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool, showing real enthusiasm and energy with a late runout in the second half.
Pundit and ex-Leeds forward Beckford sent a message to the youngster saying: “looked too good bro”.
21-year-old Poveda responded:
Love my bro, Just starting 😫

If you consider Poveda had not played in a first-team game since January before the Liverpool fixture, it was a really strong return after a few months away.
The English wide player did miss the whole of February with an ankle injury, and since then he’s had to bide his time on the bench waiting for an opportunity from Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa.
He’s an exciting player with real pace, directness and energy to his game. However, he’s got the problem of their being real competition within the Leeds squad right now for the attacking positions.
It will be a surprise though not to see him get some more minuets from now until the end of the season, so it’s up to him to try be clinical whenever on the pitch.
