Jermaine Beckford was blown away on Saturday by the performance of Leeds United star Raphinha, who marked his return from injury with an assist in the victory over Tottenham.

Leeds returned to winning ways with a really impressive 3-1 result at home to Spurs at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are now in the top half of the Premier League table, and should be confident of staying there in what is left of the season.

Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo Moreno were all on the scoresheet for the Yorkshire giants, who in the end were too much for visitors Spurs.

Raphinha, 24, came off the bench to deliver an eye-catching cameo display in the final half an hour.

The Brazilian winger perfectly teed up Rodrigo for his side’s third goal, and his return will be a welcome sight for fans.

Ex-Leeds forward Beckford was waxing lyrical about him during his performance.

“Raphinha has been on for less than 5 mins and the desire and commit he’s shown already shows why he’s straight out of the top draw!” Beckford wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

If Raphinha is on the pitch for Leeds, their game looks like it can go up another gear with the amount of quality he’s got on the ball.

The left-footed wide man scares opposition defenders when he’s got possession, so having him back for the final three games of the campaign is superb news.

It’s been an amazing first year in English football, and perhaps the best is yet to come from the South American attacker who’s got every trick in the book.
