Jermaine Beckford has jokingly asked Borussia Dortmund striker and Leeds-born superstar Erling Haaland about a move to Elland Road this summer – after the Norwegian powerhouse scored twice on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

Haaland, 20, has been in sensational form this season. Following his move to Dortmund in January 2020, he scored 16 goals in 18 games and has somehow improved that rate of goals this time around – netting an enormous 31 in just 29 games.

The former Salzburg striker has a strong connection to Leeds, with his Father playing for the Whites. Alf Inge Haaland played 74 league games between 1997 and 2000, and during that time – Erling was born in Yorkshire.

The Dortmund striker has spoken in the past of scoring goals at Elland Road, and following his two goals for the German side in a 5-4 Champions League aggregate win over Sevilla – Beckford jokingly asked Haaland if he has heard about a move to Leeds.

Leeds currently boast Patrick Bamford up top, while Rodrigo was signed to compete with the Chelsea academy product. However, Rodrigo is being used deeper in attacking midfield and his important in that role was proven against West Ham.

The Whites do need a striker but the chances of them signing Haaland are near impossible, given that he will have the biggest clubs in the world after his signature. Haaland could end up in the Premier League, but Beckford’s Tweet is merely a joke.
