Jermain Defoe has lauded Joe Aribo and suggested that the midfielder has been brilliant since he came to Rangers in the summer, in comments reported by the Daily Record.
Aribo’s arrival at Ibrox appeared to be a real coup for the Gers. The 23-year-old scored 10 goals as Charlton secured promotion to the Championship last season.

And Steven Gerrard has taken little time to make the Nigeria international a key part of his plans. He has already made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, and has scored four times.
Aribo has also provided two assists in the Scottish Premiership, including one in the 4-0 win at St Johnstone at the weekend. He found Defoe with a brilliant pass into the box, and the 36-year-old took full advantage of the opportunity on his way to a quick fire brace.

And Defoe explained that he has been incredibly impressed by the impact that the youngster has made since moving to Scotland.
“Joe is brilliant and I thought Davo was unbelievable, Jacko again,” he said, as reported by the Record. “Joe has been brilliant since he has come in, he is fantastic. He keeps the ball, he glides by people.
“With my second goal, I didn’t think he saw me but he played a clever pass through the defender’s legs. He is a fantastic talent.”
It is no surprise that many of the Rangers fans are extremely excited about the direction the club are heading in. Aribo is still developing and perfecting his game, but he is already making an impact for the Gers.
It may be the likes of Ryan Jack and Steven Davis who are, rightly, taking many of the headlines currently. But perhaps, it may not be too long before the Ibrox faithful see Aribo become a real talisman for Gerrard’s side.
