Jermain Defoe’s latest comments on Alfredo Morelos (Sky Sports News) highlight how important he is for Rangers and how far he can go in the game.
Morelos has been in excellent goal scoring form this season, netting a stunning 27 goals in 39 matches.
During his absence through suspension, Rangers have struggled in front of goal in a few matches, although they did hit five past Hamilton yesterday.
With Morelos back, the Gers’ attacking threat increases significantly, as highlighted by Defoe’s decision to compare the Colombian striker to Harry Kane.
Defoe worked with Kane at Tottenham Hotspur and the England international is renowned for his clinical finishing.
But Defoe reckons Morelos possesses the same finishing ability as Kane.

Speaking to reporters (via Sky Sports News), Defoe said: “At Tottenham, when we had Harry Kane as a youngster, I remember saying that I believed he should play more and that he would go on to score a lot of goals for the club.
“What he has done is unbelievable. And I think Alfredo’s got that. When you’re a natural goalscorer, you can score goals at any level in any league.”
Rangers will be eager to keep the 22-year-old at Ibrox for the long-term but they may face a battle to keep him.
Defoe’s high praise for Morelos is an indication that the youngster will go far in the game, and that could be away from Rangers.
