Jeremie Frimpong has insisted that he has absolutely no intention of leaving Celtic anytime soon as he continues to impress at Parkhead, in comments reported by the Daily Record.
Frimpong has been a revelation with the Hoops. The 19-year-old was probably signed from Manchester City in the summer with one eye on the future. However, it appears, in Frimpong’s case at least, the future is now.

The right-back has been outstanding in almost all of his 12 first-team appearances. And it appears to be a matter of time before he is being linked with a move away.
But Frimpong has issued an exciting update on his future by insisting that he is not going anywhere before admitting that he cannot believe how quickly everything has happened for him.

“No, I’m at Celtic and this is where I’m staying. The fans love me and I love them so I’m staying here,” he said, as reported by the Record when asked about the possibility of leaving.
“When I came here I wanted to win trophies and Celtic are the right team to do that with. I thought I’d have to wait a while. I didn’t think everything would happen this quick.
“But I always knew that one day I’d prove myself. I want to keep doing it for the fans and my team-mates.”

Celtic fans would be forgiven for fearing the day that Frimpong does leave the club. But it already looks to be a safe bet to assume that he will become another player who lands the Bhoys a huge profit.
His value has surely already increased significantly. And it should continue to only go one way as he gets more appearances under his belt.
There may be dips in form to come. But it is clear that Frimpong is going to be a fantastic player for Celtic in the coming years. It is another brilliant find for the Hoops.
And Frimpong’s success should only help convince young players on the club’s radar that moving to Parkhead can be a huge step in the right direction for their careers.
