Jenas and Defoe have praise for Manchester City star on Instagram after achievement
Jermain Defoe and Jermaine Jenas praised Manchester City star Kyle Walker on Instagram, after clocking up his 500th club outing on Saturday.
Walker, 31, is just 11 away from clocking up 200 appearances for Manchester City. But with 229 at Spurs, he has now reached a huge 500.
The 63-time England international has also turned out for Sheffield United – his boyhood club – as well as QPR, Villa and Northampton Town on loan.
It is a huge achievement and for Walker, there is still plenty of life left in the legs. At just 31, he could really go on to reach an enormous figure.

It is certainly an impressive achievement for a player still only aged 31. Realistically, he will be hoping to play until he is at least 35, 36.
If he stays fit and remains first choice, there is no reason why Walker cannot target 750 appearances in all competitions – even if not at Man City.
As he gets older, City may feel it is time to let him go – though he has three years remaining on his current contract at The Etihad.
Another milestone Walker will have his eye on is joining a 13-man list to reach 500 Premier League appearances. He is currently on 321.
Reacting to his Instagram post, ex-Tottenham duo Jenas and Defoe reacted – applauding the Manchester City man and predicting more to come.
