Young Boys striker Jean-Pierre Nsame is reportedly a target for Celtic ahead of the summer transfer window.
TEAMtalk claims that the 27-year-old striker has caught the eye of the Hoops after an impressive season with the Swiss Super League champions, with the Cameroon international hitting 25 goals and claiming nine assists in all competitions this campaign, including seven strikes in Europe in both the UEFA Europa League and qualifying phase of the UEFA Champions League.
The report also states that Premier League sides Newcastle United, Southampton and West Ham also have Nsame on their ‘summer target list’, with Old Firm rivals Rangers registering an interest in the African attacker last year as reported by Cameroonian outlet Kick442.
Celtic are expected to be in the market for strikers in the upcoming transfer window, with Leigh Griffiths expected to leave the club this summer according to The Scottish Sun, and star attacker Odsonne Edouard continuously being linked with a departure from Scotland after another impressive season with the Hoops.
TBR View: Nsame is perfect to fill attacking void should departures happen
This summer is set to be a massive one for Celtic and one that could define the club for years to come, with the Glaswegian giants in the hunt for a new manager as well as figures to fill out key positions at a boardroom and scouting level, and if Griffiths and Edouard are to leave Celtic Park, Nsame is the perfect man to replace the two attackers.
The Cameroon international has been in sizzling form for Young Boys over the past few years, with the striker hitting 78 goals in 188 games in all competitions for the Swiss club, and with experience in playing in Europe, as well as winning silverware, Nsame has both the track record and the mentality to bear the weight of two departing strikers if Griffiths and Edouard make way as part of the rebuild.
