Everton star Jean-Philippe Gbamin has lavished praise on the club’s supporters after getting a brilliant reception at Goodison Park.
The 23-year-old featured against Watford a this new home a few weeks ago for the first time.
In the first-half, Gbamin attempted a through ball, which was cut out. The Ivorian dynamo – who cost £25 million from Mainz this summer (BBC Sport) – then tracked back to dispossess Gerard Deulofeu, which drew raptuous applause from the home fans.

It was something Gbamin didn’t expect, and the star says he was blown away by the reaction.
He told the matchday programme for the Wolves game (quoted by Liverpool Echo): “I remember this! For me it was like, ‘Wow’. It was really amazing, I loved it.
“Hearing that noise, it makes you feel confident and happy, and that you want to do more.
“On the pitch, you have to stay serious and focused. But it [the ovation] was really warm, and I appreciate it a lot.”
TBR’s view
Gbamin may want to get used to being cheered at Goodison Park.

He is the kind of player that will often be breaking up play, and the Everton fans appreciate that just as much as an attacking player beating his man or going close with a shot.
They used to show the same kind of appreciation for Idrissa Gueye, who was a master interceptor and tackler, so Gbamin is sure to feel comfortable and confident for the Toffees.
