Leeds United were punished for a lack of ruthlessness yesterday as they drew 1-1 against Nottingham Forest in a game they dominated at Elland Road.
Patrick Bamford, in particular, will be disappointed he did not take one of his chances to ensure Leeds picked up the three points their performance deserved.
But one Leeds United-owned forward did show his clinical side yesterday.

Jay-Roy Grot is spending a second consecutive season out on loan in 2019-20 after failing to establish himself following a £750,000 (fee reference from YEP) move from NEC Nijmegen. Following an impressive end to his campaign with VVV Venlo last season, Grot was snapped up by Vitesse Arnhem this summer.
It was a dream move for Grot, who is from Arnhem, and he scored his first goal for his new club yesterday.
The 21-year-old scored the opening goal of a 2-0 win over Willem II and he was clearly pleased with his performance. As reported by Omroep Gelderland, it completes a special week for the player who also became an uncle. He told the publication just how happy he was with his first goal for his hometown club.
“When I scored I got a feeling that cannot be described. It is the best feeling there is.
“My brother is a big Vitesse fan. He must be proud of me. But I don’t know yet how he reacted…He just became the father of a boy. So I’m an uncle. These are nice weeks for me, I feel good about myself.”
It is, of course, not over for Grot at Leeds. Considering his youth a series of good performances back in the Netherlands could surely resurrect his flagging West Yorkshire career.
If he continues performing like this, then Leeds United might have to take better notice of their forgotten 2017 signature.
