Jay-Roy Grot has endured a difficult start to his career after joining Leeds United in the summer of 2017, but he seems to be impressing while on loan in his home country – posting a video of a stunning goal he scored this weekend on Twitter.
Grot, who turns 22 on Friday, scored an unbelievable effort for loan side Vitesse Arnhem on Saturday as he helped his team beat FC Twente 1-0. Although it was only his second goal of the season, it was certainly worth the wait.
Picking the ball up inside his own half, Grot drifts past an opponent before cutting inside the last man and then finishing superbly into the far corner. The 6ft 3in attacker did it all while travelling at enormous speed.
The £1.5million Leeds signing (Wakefield Express) and Netherlands Under-21 international posted a video of his goal on Twitter, which is likely to be up for nomination as one of the Eredivisie strikes of the campaign.

Joining Leeds from NEC Nijmegen, Grot was booed by some Whites fans at one point, managing only 22 outings for the Whites and scoring just one goal. He went on loan to VVV-Venlo last season, scoring six times in 34 outings.
This season, he has only started 10 of his 25 appearances, but Grot will be hoping his excellent goal hands him more game time. Many Leeds fans responded to his Tweet, claiming he could have a future at Elland Road.
