Jason Cundy has claimed that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has exactly the kind of profile that Tottenham fans want to see in their next managerial appointment.
After losing in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City on the weekend, interim Spurs boss Ryan Mason has five Premier League games remaining to ensure the club finishes in the European positions.
A lot of fans though will have one eye on next season, as they are desperate to find out who will replace Jose Mourinho on a permanent basis.
Ten Hag, 51, is the current manager of Dutch giants Ajax, who he’s been in charge of since 2017.
The Telegraph reports the Dutchman has been added to a list of potential Spurs managerial targets
Cundy, who points out Ten Hag has one year remaining on his contract, believes he could be the appointment that matches the wishes of Spurs supporters.
“I think Spurs need to move forward and be a bit ambitious. Ten Hag has been linked. He’s got a year left on his contract, Cundy told talkSPORT.
“The style of play at Ajax is befitting of what Spurs fans want to see. It’s a new fresh start looking to the future.

TBR’s View:
If Spurs were to appoint Ten Hag as their next manager, they would have to do so knowing they may need to be patient in the first couple of years.
He’s built incredible success with an Ajax team that play a possession-based brand of football, which can also be quick and expansive when attacking. His team’s run to the Champions League semi-final back in the 2018/19 season encapsulated everything great about his side.
However, Spurs would need a rebuild within their squad to carry out a similar kind of play, so looking towards the future with his appointment is spot on analysis.
