Jason Cundy says West Ham’s Declan Rice is good enough for any team, including Manchester City

Talksport pundit, Jason Cundy, believes West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is good enough to play for anyone at the moment, including Manchester City.

Rice has seen his stock rise even further this season thanks to a fine campaign with the Hammers and England. Talk of a big money move to Chelsea last summer never got going, leaving Rice to inspire West Ham towards European football this season.

And while Cundy, who was speaking on Talksport yesterday, believes Rice is in the right place with West Ham, he believes he’s good enough to play for anyone now.

“I’ve seen a huge amount of Declan and he’s getting better and better. And I think he’s good enough to go in at any team…and I’m putting Manchester City in there as well. He’s good enough for anyone,” Cundy said.

“Right now, West Ham is perfect for him. Him and Soucek are one of the best pairs in the league and I’ve seen a young man there develop into a leader.”

Despite West Ham’s impressive rise this term, Rice is bound to attract more interest this summer. He’s a certain starter for England in the Euros and if he does well, it will only enhance his reputation that bit further.

TBR View: Rice is approaching world-class, Cundy is right here

Jason Cundy can have controversial opinions but he is right here with Rice. At the moment, the West Ham man is good enough for anyone.

His energy, dynamism, and ability with the ball makes him more or less the complete midfielder. He’s crucial to both the Hammers and England and David Moyes is lucky to have such a talent on his hands.
