Jason Cundy has questioned the future of centre-forward Harry Kane after he watched his Tottenham side get knocked out of the Champions League in the last 16.
Spurs were outclassed away to German opposition RB Leipzig 3-0 on Tuesday night, which saw the Bundesliga outfit progress comfortably 4-0 on aggregate to the quarter-finals.
Marcel Sabitzer scored twice for the hosts to put Leipzig in pole position after just 21 minutes, plus Emil Forsberg netted a late goal from the bench in the second-half.
Manager Jose Mourinho now has to get his team refocused on the Premier League, after exits from both the Champions League and FA Cup in quick succession to dent their campaign.
Kane was one of several injury absentees for the European tie and he’s been out of action since early January with his hamstring problem.
Pundit Cundy has explained that he’s concerned about the 26-year-old’s future with Spurs, as he recognises him as a top talent and questioned whether he will want to stick with them while they rebuild.
“If you’re Harry Kane what are you thinking? Seriously one of the best strikers in world football, for me one of the best certainly Spurs will possibly ever have. What’s he thinking? What’s he going to do?” Cundy told talkSPORT.
“Why would you stay at Spurs when you know there’s a rebuilding job? That’s going to take possibly 12 maybe 24 months. Harry Kane is of an age now where he’s thinking I’ve go to show something for my talent.”

TBR’s View:
There is a possibility that Spurs have no European football next season if they don’t finish their league season strongly, which is why it’s vital they quickly regain some kind of form even without some of their key stars.
Kane’s future is mere speculation at this point, as he’s under contract with Spurs until 2024 and has been loyal to them since he came through their academy as a promising youngster.
There is no doubt though that the England captain deserves to be playing in Europe’s biggest club competitions every season and it will be intriguing to see what happens with him, as he’s a goal machine that surely any club in the world would want if he became available.
