West Ham forward, Jarrod Bowen, has praised the signing of Jesse Lingard and admitted he is ‘making a difference’ for the Hammers already.

Lingard joined the Hammers in January, sealing a loan move from Manchester United until the end of the season. West Ham beat off a number of clubs to land Lingard, who had interest from the likes of Sheffield United and Newcastle.

And since his arrival, he has lit up the pitch with some excellent displays. A two goal debut at Villa Park showed what Lingard can do, while he ran the show against Sheffield United last week.

Bowen, then, believes Lingard’s quality is showing and sees the signing of a signal of intent from the club.

Jesse is a great kid. On the pitch, you can see his quality and he’s getting that love of playing week in week out,” Bowen told Talksport.

” You can tell he’s enjoying it here. He’s made a massive difference for us and if that’s the sort of player we’re bringing in, I think it shows the ambition of the club to push for those European places.”

Lingard will be hoping to continue his fine form as the Hammers take on Tottenham this weekend. A win for David Moyes’ men could see them go into the top four.

TBR View: Lingard has been brilliant, better than most West Ham fans thought

While Lingard will have been seen as a good signing by most Hammers fans, few would have predicted he’d have quite the impact he’s had.

He seems to have transformed the team going forward and looks like doing something whenever he gets the ball.

His performance against Sheffield United was exceptional. If he can keep producing that, then a Champions League spot might even be in the grasp of the Hammers.
