Japhet Tanganga gives his verdict on working with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho

Japhet Tanganga has claimed that it is amazing to be working with Jose Mourinho, and insisted – in comments reported by Football London – that he hopes to play under him for a long time.

Mourinho appears to be doing an incredible job in North London. It is remarkable to look back and remember the situation the club found itself in during the final stages of Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure.

Spurs now top the Premier League after another North London derby win. They have not lost a domestic game since the opening day of the season.

They are also through to the knockout stages in the Europa League. And ahead of their final group game, Tanganga – who has made two appearances in the competition – shared what working under Mourinho has meant to him.

“It is amazing, I have learnt so much in the way of how much attention he pays to the game, not only on helping me defensively and certain aspects to improve on but also the tactical side, game awareness,” he said, as reported by Football London.

“The amount of knowledge he has and the amount of knowledge he has given, not only me but to the team, to manage the game better, be tactically better, manage the game smarter.

“It has been amazing to work under such a manager of his status and I wish to continue working with him because it is amazing.”
